Introduction / Day One

Hello and welcome!  My name is Mia (not really but hey it's pseudo-anon) and I am 25 years of age.  I am currently located in the lovely Yukon territory, living a REMOTE community of about 75-100 people depending on the season.  I am also in the process of joining the law enforcement community. That and the general need to get my butt in shape has led me here.

Where is here exactly, and how did I get 'here'?  Well I can briefly say that I in the past have been a pretty active individual.  I did track, swam, and worked out my way through high school.  I then went on to University (or college for all you american readers), and can say that I did indeed put on the dreaded 'Freshman Fifteen'.  It wasn't all at once and I did the whole yo-yo thing, where I would put on some weight, lose a bunch and then gain it back.  Combine finishing school with meeting the love of your life and his two gorgeous daughters and you get an instant family.
   After awhile the excuses pile up but no more.  I am done with excuses and am taking action!!

Just before the new year (yes I realize it is March) I started this journey.  I started by hopping on our lovely upright stationary bike for 20-40 minutes a day and lifting some weights.  I soon realized that this was getting me nowhere quickly and to be honest was boring as watching paint dry.  It was then that a friend of mine lent me the '30 Day Shred' by the wonderful Jillian Michaels.  Now let me just say I use the term wonderful after just completing my workout, the endorphins are running high.  Don't be mistaken I am definitely cursing her as I am completing the workouts!  When she says you may feel like you want to die, don't worry there is no most likely you will want to die.  Anyways, moving right along...

So after doing 'the shred' for the entire month of January, I was estactic.  I felt amazing and wasn't looking too bad!  But upon returning back to the Yukon I found myself grounded for two and a half weeks with an unbelievable cold.  Now at three at a half weeks later I am back doing the shred and felt the need to make myself accountable.  So I created this blog.

Here are my starting facts;

The Dreaded Measurements
Bust: 38 inches
Waist: 36 inches
Hips: 42 inches

Daily Routine
Bike 20-40 minutes
One session of the '30 Day Shred'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once I complete Level Three, meaning when I can run though it without wanting to die I will move on to another routine utilizing Jillian's other DVDs "Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism", "No More Trouble Zones", and her new "Yoga Meltdown".

I look forward to sharing my thoughts, experiences, pain,  and frustration with you!
